Can I use SCALAR with my existing telematics devices?

SCALAR is an open platform. It can ingest data from any OEM or third-party telematics device or cloud platform through dedicated integrations. For the best SCALAR experience, deeper and richer insights, and full access to new feature releases, we recommend you start with a SCALAR EVO device and add integrations as you go.

Do SCALAR EVO devices work with electric vehicles?

SCALAR EVO devices are designed to be vehicle-brand independent. SCALAR EVO Touch and SCALAR EVO Flow can be installed on any truck — whether electric or conventional — that supports standard protocols like CANbus and FMS. For trailers, SCALAR EVO Pulse and SCALAR EVO Guard connect directly to trailer systems like Electronic Braking System (EBS) or refrigeration units, regardless of whether the tractor unit runs on diesel, gas, or electric power.

How is my data kept secure?

Data between devices and SCALAR is transmitted using encrypted connections, stored in secure environments, and protected by strict access controls. The SCALAR devices themselves are designed with robust hardware and firmware security features, including protection against tampering and integrity checks, so both the unit and the data it sends are protected.
